Georg ‘Jojje’ Wadenius (Guitar / SE)Jesper Nordenström (Keys / SE)Lars 'Larry' Danielsson (Bass / DK)Per Lindvall (Drums / SE)

Swedish guitarplayer Georg ‘Jojje’ Wadenius is one of the brother land’s great musicians. Back in the 1960s he was a leading force in two of the first fusion groups of Scandinavia, Made in Sweden and Solar Plexus. He moved to USA and worked as a studio musician for a.o. Aretha Franklin, David Sanborn and Paul Simon, and touring with Steely Dan and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Back in Sweden he began writing music for kids.

Here, we will enjoy Wadenius with three of Scandinavia’s absolute top musicians in a strong blend of funk, melodic fusion with a touch of jazz and blues. Wadenius’ playing contains all the nuances it requires to satisfy any listener, great technique, poetry, good taste and off course energy.

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.
Sharón Clark (Vocal / US)Mattias Nilsson (Piano / SE)Mads Vinding (Bass / DK)Snorre Kirk (Drums / DK)

"Frank would love you!" Frank Sinatra's manager once told American singer Sharón Clark. With that message in the tour suitcase, you have the courage to stand up on any stage and receive the audience's tribute. Sharón Clark has performed all over the world and has earned many honors. Miss Clark professes the same jazz tradition as the icons Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday and is above all an irresistible performer.

The many years of collaboration with the Swedish pianist Matthias Nilsson is the perfect symbiosis between the singer's superior extroversion and the pianist's solidity. The quartet is completed by bassist Mads Vinding and drummer Snorre Kirk, who both in their own period have helped to define what was once called the modern jazz, which today can be called the classical jazz.

Malene Kjærgård (Vocal / DK)Calle Brickman (Piano / SE)

  • Aldersgruppe: 2-12 mdr

Fabrizio Bosso with Jesper Bodilsen Trio

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.
Fabrizio Bosso (Trumpet / IT)Magnus Hjorth (Piano / DK)Jesper Bodilsen (Bass / DK)Martin Andersen (Drums / DK)

Many Danish jazz musicians have international careers and excite jazz listeners all around the world. Bassist Jesper Bodilsen has been an established musician in Italy for many years, and drummer Martin Andersen almost consider Spain as his second home. The excellent Italian trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso is one of the star musicians, who plays with the two Danish musicians at concerts in Italy.

Just like his compatriot and instrument colleague, Enrico Rava, Bosso focuses on the melodic in his playing. His ability to compose the most beautiful and often surprising musical lines is breathtaking, and his tone choices and laid-back style evokes memories of a sleepy Italian village. If you close your eyes and listen to the music, you are suddenly sitting in the shade drinking a glass of local wine, while the sun calmly sets behind the mountain tops.

Mange danske jazzmusikere har internationale karrierer og begejstrer jazzlyttere verden over.

Nelle Trio

“Upcoming” is Montmartre’s series of talent concerts where upcoming artists test the boundaries of jazz.
Karolina Smietana (Vocal / PL)Stian Swensson (Guitar / DK)Radek Wosko (Drums/Percussion / PL)

Nelle Trio is a band founded by the Danish based Polish singer and songwriter, Karolina Smietana, together with guitarist Stian Swensson and drummer Radek Wosko. All of them have each been part of numerous international projects with big profiles like Lionel Loueke, Palle Mikkelborg and Tomasz Stańko. The band writes original music with elements of jazz, pop and folk, with the lyrics at the center. An unconventional instrumentation with percussion, guitar and vocal provides plenty of space for experiments, musical minimalism, and attention to detail.

In 2020, the band released their debut album "TRIBE", which reflects the different emotions associated with having to adapt to a foreign culture and find your place as an individual. Through the music, the trio therefore looks at the development of identity, linked to the experience of moving to a foreign country. The group combines their melodic compositions with musical statements on topics such as democracy, the courage to be yourself and equality in spite of different cultures and religions.

Carl Winther (Piano / DK)Pelle Von Bülow (Guitar / DK)Matthias Petri (Bass / DK)Jacob Lindberg (Drums / SE)

It's always exciting when the younger generation gives a take on how the American song treasure can be interpreted. This new group moves with a 180 km/h with pianist Carl Winther and guitarist Pelle von Bülow in the center playing both standards and their own compositions in the company of bassist Matthias Petri and drummer Jacob Lindberg.

Here we get the opportunity to experience the "known" transformed and performed by musicians who were not born when the music was created, but who have had it under their skin through all of their lives. One of the star-groups of tomorrow? Come and listen yourself.

Claire Martin (Vocal / UK)Mads Bærentzen (Piano / DK)Thomas Ovesen (Bass / DK)Kristian Leth (Drums / DK)

Here we can sit back, close our eyes and drift away with the English singer Claire Martin's personal and heartfelt interpretations of jazz standards, as they were introduced by Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald and all the others. Martin's clean and clear voice brings the listener back to a time when it was not about showing skill, but about performing text and melody as simple and present as possible - a rarity among singers today.

Claire Martin is one of England's leading jazz singers and is also an intense and charming performer. She is accompanied here by her regular Danish trio. It is thus not a one-night-only concert; the four musicians know each other thoroughly.

Magnus Lindgren: Stockholm Underground

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.
Magnus Lindgren (Flute/Keys / SE)Henrik Janson (Guitar / SE)Lars ‘Larry’ Danielsson (Bass / DK)Per Lindvall (Drums / SE)

The flutist Herbie Mann's legendary LP release from 1969 "Memphis Underground" is recreated in 2022 by the forward-thinking Swedish saxophonist and flutist Magnus Lindgren and his team of funky musicians. Lindgren has a great reputation in his home country and is quite well deserved breaking through on the international jazz scene.

This evening Lindgren concentrates his focus on the flute, so all Herbie Mann fans can begin to get excited. Drum machines are not allowed - we are talking old school, hand-played funk that goes straight into the body. It is super well-played and dynamic music that has roots back in time, but which sounds contemporary. The jazz magazine Galore therefore wrote that the sound from the album "Stockholm Underground" picks up the sound from the iconic "Memphis Underground" and transports it all the way up to the Stockholm archipelago.

Bobo Stenson Trio

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.
Bobo Stenson (Piano / SE)Anders Jörmin (Bass / SE)Jon Fält (Drums / SE)

Bobo Stenson belongs to the absolute elite in Swedish jazz. He's actually a bit of a legend. With his lyrical, airy and always melodic playing, he was the natural pianist in Jan Garbarek's legendary Norwegian/Swedish group, which set the standard for contemporary European jazz. Stenson has since worked with his own groups and has always focused on pairing the Swedish melancholy with the more aggressive American jazz. And you’d have to say that he succeeded quite well.

With Stenson on stage is the wonderful bassist Anders Jörmin, whose technically superb and always inspiring playing is worth its weight in gold, as well as the dynamic drummer Jon Fält, who with his precise and attentive playing really brings the trios sound together. Look forward to vitality, intensity and not least beautiful melodies when the Bobo Stenson Trio visits the jazz house in St. Regnegade.

Human Being Human

“Upcoming” is Montmartre’s series of talent concerts where upcoming artists test the boundaries of jazz.
Esben Tjalve (Piano / DK)Torben Bjørnskov (Bass / DK)Frederik Bülow (Drums / DK)

In Human Being Human, the musicians gather around music that explores and challenges the acoustic jazz trio. With elements of electronica, the trio's sound universe and possibilities are expanded, which normally only can be performed by much larger ensembles. The trio's compositional basis is to create musical platforms where the music can unfold with equal parts of improvisation, grooves and ambience. The music will therefore take you on a journey from cinematic landscapes to the intense chaos of the big city, and there will be equal parts of inspiration from Johan Sebastian Bach to the soul jazz of the 1970s.

Human Being Human as a trio has a lot to offer due to the musicians' very different backgrounds. Torben Bjørnskov has deep roots in Nordic melancholy, but also in jazz, thanks to a long collaboration with American and English musicians. Esben Tjalve has worked for a number of years in the London music scene, and Frederik Bülow has strong ties to the new wave of Jazz Tronica and Odd meters-based music.

The trio's music makes a strong voice in our time, and behind every single composition many cultural, philosophical and spiritual thoughts are waiting to be discovered. So come by Montmartre and join the exploration of the deep sound universe of Human Being Human.
