“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.
Jakob Bro (Guitar / DK)Palle Mikkelborg (Trumpet / DK)Marilyn Mazur (Percussion / DK)

In 2018, Jakob Bro and Palle Mikkelborg released the album "Returnings" on the record company ECM. The music is described as calm and subtle as it floats through quiet details and creates sound paintings of depth, warmth and beauty. It is songs from this record they will send through the room with Marilyn Mazur.

Jakob Bros' delicate, simple, melodic, intimate playing meets Mikkelborg's soft and sometimes Miles-like horn and is spiced with Marilyn Mazur's always virtuoso and playful contact with her own magnificent collection of percussion. A meeting of three Danish stars in music of peace and joy with room for play and improvisation.

Fredrik Moth Five

“Upcoming” is Montmartre’s series of talent concerts where upcoming artists test the boundaries of jazz.
Frederik Moth (Saxophone / DK)Benjamin Nørholm Jacobsen (Piano / DK)Mads Nørgaard (Guitar / DK)Jasper Jagd (Bass / DK)David Besiakov (Drums / DK)

The members of this group are young and active in the Danish jazz community, with strong musical personalities, all of whom are band leaders on their own projects. The compositions are written by Fredrik Moth, but the music is created jointly with room for the individual's voice.

The quintet released their first record in 2015 which was very well received by the press: ”(…) All formulated through the really well-written songs that the five musicians relate to. This is not a jam, not at all, it is inspired collaboration where musical wholeness is the goal. It's 8-0 at the break. The tunes catch on. And it swings”. - Henrik Woldsgaard, Jazzspecial.

Now the group is out with their second album: "Take The B - Train" which we have the pleasure of listening to this evening!

Melodierne fanger. Og det swinger”. - Henrik Woldsgaard, Jazzspecial.

Björn Ingelstam Quartet: Album Release

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.
Björn Ingelstam (Trumpet/Flugelhorn/Vocals / SE)Calle Brickman (Piano / SE)Matthias Petri (Bass / DK)Andreas Svendsen (Drums / DK)

Internationally acclaimed trumpeter Bjorn Ingelstam with his roots in southern Sweden has been a returning figure on the Scandinavian jazz scene. Since relocating to New York 2013 and later on Paris in 2018, Bjorn has developed his sound in the jazz tradition and taken it into the modern day without being afraid to swing and groove along the way. By taking up the vocals as a compliment to the trumpet he adds an extra color to the "palette" that's been highly appreciated by audiences and critics alike.

The group returns to our stage with the release of their second album ”The Start of Something Big” in the bag. It will be a hard-swinging night with a wide variety of styles within the American jazz idiom and a couple of original compositions.
