Monten: Athletic Progression

Jazzhus Montmartre is starting a new concept "Monten", which will be celebrated with music and vinyls!

Athletic Progression will be the first to go on stage this evening. The instrumental trio has roots in hip hop and draws on several musical styles; jazz, soul and funk. Athletic Progression plays with a strong authenticity inspired by artists like Yusuuf Kamal, J. Dilla, Robert Glasper and Flying Lotus. In 2017, their concert at the SPOT Festival was celebrated as the festival's best by the music magazine Regnsky.

After the concert, the vinyl players is turned on and the room is filled with sound selected by Simon Dokkedal, Dee Brown and Astrid Engberg. Extraordinarily, the bar is open until 2:00 am.

Jazzhus Montmartre starter nyt koncept med navnet "Monten". Opstarten fejres med koncert og et vivar af vinylplader!

Athletic Progression indtager scenen kl. 21:30, som de første på aftenen. Den instrumentale trio har rødder i hiphop og trækker på flere forskellige musikalske stilarter; jazz, soul og funk. Athletic Progression spiller med en stærk autencitet inspireret af artister som Yusuuf Kamal, J. Dilla, Robert Glasper og Flying Lotus. I 2017 blev deres koncert på SPOT Festival hyldet som festivalens bedste af musikmagasinet Regnsky.

Efter koncerten tændes vinylafspillerne, og lokalet fyldes med lyd udvalgt af Simon Dokkedal, Dee Brown og Astrid Engberg. Baren holder ekstraordinært åbent til kl. 02:00.

Lars Danielsson: Liberetto III

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.

The Swedish cellist and bassist Lars Danielsson will honor Montmartre with a visit. He has an inimitable sound, which comes both from his background and from his classical education. His unparalleled talent for simple and catchy melodies characterizes his music as leader, as well as his feel for sounds and arrangements, and by his flair for putting together very special groups of musicians. This time around the talented group of assembled musicians shall include Gregory Privat on the piano, John Parricelli on the guitar and Magnus Öström on both drums and percussion.

Den svenske superbassist Lars Danielsson, der er efterspurgt over hele verden for sit smukke lyriske og rytmiske spil, lægger vejen forbi Montmartre. Lars Danielssons unikke lyd kan bl.a. krediteres til hans klassiske musikalske baggrund. Hans uovertrufne talent for enkle og fængende melodier karakteriserer hans musik som leder, såvel som hans følelse af lyde og arrangementer samt hans flair for at sammensætte unikke og talentfulde grupper af musikere. Denne gang vil gruppen af musikere bestå af Gregory Privat på piano, John Parricelli på guitar og Magnus Öström på både trommer og perkussion.
