Joyce Moreno: 50 Years in Music

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.

Joyce Moreno is celebrating her 50th anniversary in music. Born in Rio de Janeiro, four-times Grammy nominee, singer, composer, arranger and instrumentalist Joyce Moreno has authored more than 400 songs interpreted by the greatest names in Brazilian pop music: from Elis Regina and Gal Costa to Milton Nascimento, Sergio Mendes, and countless others. Beyond Brazil, Joyce’s work has been recorded by Annie Lennox, The Black Eyed Peas and Gerry Mulligan to name a few. Since the beginning of her career, Joyce’s trademark has been the first-person feminine voice, which she pioneered; she was the first Brazilian female songwriter to express herself in this form, opening the way for countless other artists who followed. Joyce’s compositions have been featured in movie soundtracks, TV programs and theater plays. Her music is embraced by DJs all over the world and her tune Aldeia de Ogum became a massive worldwide dancefloor hit. Joyce Moreno will be playing with exclusively Brazilian musicians including her husband Tutty
