After living in Copenhagen for 3 years, Kuba Więcek moved to Warsaw, where he founded his own group made of the finest musicians in Poland; Michał Barański and Łukasz Żyta. Soon after, they recorded their debut album which was released by Warner Music as part of the legendary „Polish Jazz” series. This was the first release in the series in 28 years! The album brought a lot of attention to the group, and as a result they have played on several big festivals throughout Europe. They got some important awards like Fryderyk (Polish Grammy) and Mateusz (Polish Radio Award). Kuba Więcek and his trio were featured in the latest issue of Downbeat magazine on the page dedicated to European jazz:
"Any perceived shortcomings, though, easily were washed away as the Kuba Więcek Trio, led by its namesake saxophonist, gamboled through inventive compositions, aiming at various times to mimic a glockenspiel or solidify whatever it currently means to be a new-millennium Euro-based ensemble indebted to jazz’s history and pop music’s populism." - Downbeat Magazine (USA) at Jazzahead! 2018.
Tickets only sold in the door. 100DKK/50DKK for students and under 26.
