Charles McPherson Quartet

“Premium” is Montmartre’s series of rare intimate concerts with jazz giants that you cannot normally meet on small intimate stages. These concerts are priced above the normal tickets to cover costs and travel for these heavy-weights.

The 78-year old American saxophonist, Charles McPherson, is a living jazz legend and is known for his collaboration with Charles Mingus with whom he played with at Montmartre back in 1972. Charles McPherson remains a strong, viable force on the jazz scene today, and his playing combines passionate feeling with intricate patterns of improvisation. Throughout his five decades of being an integral performer in jazz music, Charles has not merely remained true to his bebop origins but has expanded them. He will be accompanied by Bruce Barth on the piano, Daryl Hall on the bass, and Stephen Keogh on the drums.
