Søren Kristiansen Trio

Søren Kristiansen (Piano / DK)Thomas Ovesen (Bass / DK)Alex Riel (Drums / DK)

Søren Kristiansen has accompanied many great American musicians and is today considered as one of the leading Danish jazz musicians. He comes from an era before jazz pianists were produced in educational facilities with shining pianos. Instead, like many other great musicians, he has been mentored in clubs by the ones who came before him. In recent years, Søren Kristiansen has released a series of critically acclaimed records in his own name and stands out as one of the most personal pianists that we have today, whilst keeping in check with tradition at the same time. Thomas Ovesen will accompany him on the bass and Alex Riel on the drums.

You can expect a beautiful, thoughtful and playful night in the name of jazz.

Ronnie Cuber (Baritone sax / US)Kjeld Lauritsen (Hammond B3 / DK)Krister Jonsson (Guitar / SE)Andreas Svendsen (Drums / DK)

The baritone saxophone does not belong among the most frequently used instruments in jazz music but it certainly carries a legacy within the genre. One of the biggest musicians who has done it justice is without a doubt Gerry Mulligan. Fellow American Ronnie Cuber is a modern master on the baritone saxophone and certainly one of the finest representatives of the instrument on the international jazz scene. Ronnie Cuber has played with B. B. King, Lee Konitz, Frank Zappa and many others. Kjeld Lauritsen will accompany him on the organ, Krister Jonsson on the guitar and Andreas Svendsen on the drums.

ALAWARI!, together with Montmartre, invites you to an intimate concert in the old jazz club in Store Regnegade. The band has decided to compose exclusively new music, designed for the place and the evening. More information will be released later on. The Copenhagen based group was founded in the fall of 2016 and have since then been playing concerts in venues all over Denmark. In april 2017 they won the Youth Jazz competition when they blew away a sold out Copenhagen JAZZHOUSE. The latest concert by the group was played during this summers Copenhagen Jazzfestival, where the band arranged an ambitious concert at Litteraturhaus, where 130 people could experience the band in their own scenography. ALAWARI! composes music inspired by free-jazz, as well as more contemporary improvisation music, classical impressionism, the traditional jazz tradition and northern spaciousness.

OBS: Entré 50 kr for studerende/u26

I April 2017 vandt ALAWARI!
