Arild Andersen (Bass / NO)Tommy Smith (Tenor saxophone / UK)Paolo Vinaccia (Drums / IT)

Arild Andersen’s unmistakably rich bass sound constitutes the central part of the trio’s soundscape. Saxophonist Tommy Smith adds both controlled but also inspiring improvised melodies. On the drums Paolo Vinaccia creates a nuanced energy, even when he only takes a few of the drumsets colors in use. Andersen’s beautiful playing on the double bass has taken him far beyond the Norwegian borders. His musical career began in earnest in Jan Garberek Quartet. Subsequently, he has played with musicians like Don Cherry, Sam Rivers and Stan Getz.

Andersens musikalske karriere startede for alvor i Jan Garberek Quartet.
