Monty Alexander is one of the jazz giants. An exceptional musician that always thrills his audience. Born and raised in Jamaica, this Caribbean background gives a light and a mood of a rare audience friendly character. Monty Alexander is a terrific pianist who has played with Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole and many others. It is therefore quite extra ordinary that Monty Alexander has agreed to appear in Montmartre’s historic venue. With him he has his regular trio and with a little luck we will get two terrific evenings of the most outgoing and swinging kind of jazz.

Mette Juul has in recent years established herself as one of the exciting new singers and songwriters. In 2013, she released the CD Moon On My Shoulder with the excellent trumpet player Ambrose Akinmusire. The CD had a great and very well-deserved review in the international jazz press. It is both the music from this album and new songs from Mette Juul, that we can be pleased to hear this evening. Besides Mette's own songs, we will also get to hear the music of Cole Porter, Bruno Martino, Joni Mitchell and Kenny Wheeler.

I 2013 udgav hun pladen Moon On My Shoulder med den fremragende trompetist Ambrose Akinmusire. The Piano trio is the most legendary constellation of jazz. Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Kenny Barron, Keith Jarrett, Enrico Pieranunzi, Thomas Clausen, Lars Jansson and others used this trio form. And the audience loved it. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we can now present Carsten Dahl along with the excellent American drummer Rodney Green who among others has played with Mulgrew Miller, Christian McBride and Benny Green. As always when Carsten Dahl gets behind the piano, you can expect a classic trio jazz of the most swinging and extroverted jazz. Not least in the company of Thomas Fonnesbæk, Denmark's new excellent bass player and Rodney Green, one of the world's best drummers.

Pianotrioen er den mest legendariske konstellation i jazzen. Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Kenny Barron, Keith Jarrett, Enrico Pieranunzi, Thomas Clausen, Lars Jansson m.fl. dyrker alle trioformen.

Benjamin Koppel is one of Denmark's most versatile musicians and at the same time he is one of jazz' most industrious entrepreneurs; he is the owner of a record label, the director of the Valby Summer Jazz festival as well as a highly sought after musician in Denmark, Europe and New York. For this reason, it is a great pleasure to be able to present one of his international ensembles, which is touring Europe at the moment. Here he joins up with two great American musicians: The remarkable bass player Scott Colley and perhaps the world's most interesting and original drummer in these years: Brian Blade.

Kristin Korb is one of the new, young musicians who master the jazz tradition and yet stay true to their own modern selves. We know her from her collaboration with Ray Brown, Jan Lundgren, Alex Riel and Jeff Hamilton, who have all taken note of her incredible swing. In 2012, love brought her to Denmark from Los Angeles, but she maintains an international career. This September, she releases her most personal CD yet, “Finding Home”, featuring Kristin's stories of love, travel, language lessons and integrating into her new Danish home.

Stefano Bollani belongs within an exclusive, elite circle of today's greatest jazz pianists. Not only does his playing radiate extreme musicality and finesse, his playfulness and joie de vivre is without equal in jazz today. Bollani repeals all complaints about the elitism of “art music”. He is an immensely poetic musician as well as an amazing entertainer. Bollani's collaboration with Jesper Bodilsen and Morten Lund has reached a rare state refinement bordering on the telepathic. There will be plenty of opportunities to experience this during their three night return to Montmartre. Not to be missed!

Jeremy Pelt is one of his generation greatest trumpet player. He has an incredible technique and a sound that makes you think of Miles Davis, Art Farmer and Freddie Hubbard. It is extremely rare that musicians of his calibre turn up on the international jazz scene. With him he has two Danish legends and Copenhagen’s biggest talent on the piano right now.
