Frank Sinatra is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars of all time. A superb singer and entertainer who surrounded himself with the best lyricists, composers and orchestras around. His material was of a very special nature and stands as a symbol of an unique era. Think about Las Vegas, the Rat Pack, Sinatra and Count Basie etc. and you get the idea. Now Bobo Moreno and Nikolaj Bentzon has taken the initiative to present The Sinatra Songbook in a small format. Do not miss it.

SINNE EEG QUARTET - RELEASE CONCERTS

Sinne Eeg (vocal / DK)Jacob Christoffersen (piano / DK)Morten Ramsbøl (Bass / DK)Morten Lund (drums / DK)

Sinne Eeg is the single most requested female singer in Denmark and one of the very few musicians wanted both in most of Europe and in Japan. Now she returns to the stage which she and her faithful quartet has conquered multiple times with enormous success in the past. The audience loves Sinne Eeg for her charisma and her rare ability to choose repertoires that manage to both surprise and embrace her listeners. Even those that have never listened to jazz before surrender themselves to Sinne Eeg – she is jazz at its best, nothing less.

Vocal

DIDIER LOCKWOOD & THE GREAT DANES

Didier Lockwood (Violin / FR)Carsten Dahl (piano / DK)Jesper Lundgaard (bass / DK)Alex Riel (drums / DK)

Didier Lockwood is without comparison France's greatest jazz name. His musical surplus is phenomenal and like the greatest names throughout history, he spellbinds his audience. Now, he celebrates his forty year anniversary as a musician, and during this time, he has played with all the giants. However, he loves Copenhagen, not least this particular rhythm section, where especially Alex Riel knows how to encourage his temperament. Didier Lockwood also participated in the very first reopening of Montmartre with Lisa Nilsson and Toots Thielemans, among others. When he is best, Didier might be the world's most entertaining musician. He is absolutely astonishing.

Kanny Barron is the pianist par excellence. We know him from his recordings with Stan Getz in the Nørregade edition of Montmartre and for his splendid trio recordings under his own name. He is one of a very select number of living pianists to have written a series of melodies today recognized as standards. Kenny Barron's trio is one of the most iconic and synergetic trios in the world; it is American jazz at its best. He brings along his steady bass player, Kiyoshi Katagawa, and the riveting young drummer Lee Pearson, who swept the audience off its feet night after night last summer with his showmanship and excellent drumming. Don't miss this trio.

Kenny Barron er pianisten over dem alle.

VINDING / PILC / MAZUR

Mads Vinding (bass / DK)Jean-Michel Pilc (Piano / FR)Marilyn Mazur (percussion / DK)

Mads Vinding is among the most important European bassists. He has toured worldwide and played with all the major American, Brazilian and European stars. In his own name, he has had great success with his trio which over the years has included names like Alex Riel, Enrico Pieranunzi, Roger Kellaway, Jacob Karlzon, Carsten Dahl, Billy Hart and now the great French pianist Jean Michel Pilc and Denmark's international drummer and percussionist Marilyn Mazur. This is another dream trio. Because it's a Monday concert, we have set the ticket extraordinarily low. Is there a better way to spend a Monday night?

Jesper Bodilsen is not only one of Denmark's finest bassists, he is also one of our greatest composers. On his latest album, "Scenografie", he exploits the Italian acquaintances which he has cultivated over the course of many years, not least through his collaboration with Stefano Bollani. This concert will allow him to showcase his beautiful musical landscape in the company of sublime Danish and Italian musicians, not least the Neapolitan Joe Barberi, who spellbinds the audience with his presence. Join us on a journey in a musical universe which makes you forget time and place.

Knut Riisnæs (Tenor / NO)Jacob Christoffersen (piano / DK)Daniel Franck (bass / SE)Håkon Mjåsæt Johansen (Drums / NO)

The Danish tradition for main stream jazz on a high technical level is greatly esteemed in most of the world. Norway, on the contrary, is known for a freer approach to the music. This, however, does not apply to Knut Riisnæs and Håkan Mjåset Johansen, who are sublime jazz musicians of the kind we love in Montmartre. Knut Riisnæs might be best described as the Norwegian answer to Bent Jædig; a popular figure and an engaging musician who always goes to the heads of the audience. In this alliance with Daniel Franck and Jacob Christoffersen, the stage is set for a classic Montmartre night with jazz that screams for a good glass of wine or a cold beer.

YASSER PINO'S LATIN SYNDICATE

Yasser Pino (bass / CU)Nico Gori (clarinet / IT)Paolo Russo (bandeneon / IT)Raciel Jimenez (drums / CU)Eliel Lazo (percussion / CU)

A host of splendid Cuban musicians live in Copenhagen, the most well known of these being the drum genius Eliel Lazo. This particular quintet, however, is led by the no less wonderful bass player, Yasser Pino, who has gathered five great personalities for his new Latin Syndicate, playing out-going, engaging Afro-Cuban jazz, the way we know it from Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito D'Rivera and Arturo Sandoval. Latin Syndicate is completed by two local Italians, who we love for their sense of melody and their ability to charm the audience.

Latin Jazz.
